Therapy Services at School – What Parents Need to Know
We understand that many families access therapy services to support their child’s development, and we value the role these services play. However, with more therapists wanting to work with students during school hours, it’s become harder to keep our specialised learning program running smoothly.
To help us manage this better, we’ve put a few simple guidelines in place:
1. Request Form Required
Before any therapy sessions can happen at school, parents need to fill out a Therapy Services Request Form. This helps us understand what’s being planned and how it might affect your child’s learning.
2. Therapy Times
To protect valuable learning time, therapy sessions will now only be allowed after 1:45pm. This ensures students can fully take part in our specialised morning program.
3. Speech Therapy Comes First
Because speech and language development is central to our program, Speech Therapy will be given priority when scheduling sessions. Other therapies (like OT, physio, or psychology) may be considered depending on availability and impact on learning.
4. Keeping Learning on Track
When students are taken out of class too often, it can affect their progress and connection with peers. We ask families and therapists to work with us to make sure therapy supports—not interrupts—your child’s education.
Thank you for helping us create the best possible learning environment for all our students.
