Information for Service Providers

Therapy Services Policy – South East Language Development Centre

At South East Language Development Centre, we recognise the importance of therapy services in supporting the development of our students. However, due to the increasing number of external providers requesting access during school hours, we must now implement guidelines to ensure the integrity of our specialised educational program is maintained.

Key Guidelines:

  • Request Process:
Parents must complete a Therapy Services Request Form prior to any external therapy being scheduled on school grounds. This allows us to assess the impact on the student’s learning and the broader classroom program.
  • Scheduling Limitations:
To minimise disruption, therapy sessions will only be permitted after the students’ lunch break at 1:45pm. This ensures students can fully participate in the core components of our specialised program during the morning session.
  • Priority of Services:
Due to the nature of our program, Speech Therapy will be given priority when scheduling therapy sessions. Other services such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Psychology may be considered based on availability and educational impact.
  • Program Integrity:
Frequent withdrawal of students from class can significantly affect their learning and social development. We ask families and providers to work collaboratively with the school to ensure therapy complements, rather than disrupts, the educational experience.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to balance therapeutic support with high-quality education.
