Positive Behaviour Support

Our school is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school. This is a school-wide approach to behaviour and is based on 4 simple expectations. These are explicitly taught to all children and are the expectations for everyone.

Children are recognised for following our four expectations by receiving positive descriptive praise, stickers and certificates.

The four expectations are:

Red and Green choices

We also teach students about making ‘red’ and ‘green’ choices, and this language is used consistently across the school. Students are encouraged to make green choices and are recognised when they do.

If students do make ‘red’ choices, they are led through a restorative practice process to identify how they were feeling, what action those feelings led to and what they could have done instead.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Social Emotional Learning is understanding and managing your emotions and making good decisions. All classes teach these skills daily to help students cope with challenges, engage with learning and improve social skills.
