The Centre runs a number of Parent Workshops over the year. In general, the more information that Parents are able to gain about their child and their language/literacy problems, the better equipped they will be to act as advocates for their child in outside settings. This will also better enable Parents to aid in the eventual transition from LDC to local school. It is expected that parents will attend at least two workshops per year, as well as assisting their child in completing set homework activities and any extra speech/language work. This will vary from child to child. Parents are actively encouraged to access information from other sources as well.
